Beyoncé stars in an exciting performance during the tribute to Kobe Bryant at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Beyoncé knew how to live up to the day of emotions that Los Angeles lived on Monday when she starred during the tribute to Kobe Bryant a heartfelt performance in which she performed one of the former songs of the former player.
The star took the stage at the Staples Center, the track of Bryant’s LA Lakers, invited as a close friend of the family: “I’m here because I love Kobe and this was one of his favorite songs, so I want to start, but also I want us to do it all together and I want you to sing it loud enough for him to hear your love. Are you ready?
Dressed in a gold suit by Sergio Hudson, Beyoncé then sang the song “XO”, Bryant’s favorite of the singer’s repertoire. The Texas star also paid tribute to the former basketball player with a “Halo” version that ended up thrilling the Staples grades from where hundreds of people watched, including Bryant’s famous family and friends such as Michael Jordan, Kim Kardashian, Kanye West or Jennifer Lopez.
Jimmy Kimmel acted as master of ceremonies of the tribute to Bryant, who died last January in a helicopter accident with his daughter Gianna, 13, and seven others. Other artists such as Alicia Keys and Christina Aguilera also remembered Bryant and her daughter Gigi on stage. Keys performed “Moonlight Sonata” and Aguilera, “Ave Maria”.
“I will continue to pray diligently for your queens,” Beyonce wrote last January along with a photo of Kobe with her daughter Gianna in a message clearly addressed to the player’s widow, Vanessa Bryant; and his three daughters, Natalia, Bianka and Capri. “We’re going to miss you deeply, beloved Kobe.”
